Piper Superrrr Cub

Happy New Year to all From Ron and Deb.

Piper superrrr Cub

Have a look at the video link below of a performance by a stunt pilot who is, in real life a Delta Airlines pilot. His act at Air Shows is to pretend that he is a drunken spectator who rushes from the stands and jumps in a Piper Cub and takes off without any understanding of how to fly a plane.

The Piper Cub is actually specifically built to withstand enormous stress and has a very powerful engine.

This apparently is the most dangerous of Air Show acts because of the low altitude at which the pilot performs. This pilot possesses unbelievable skill, which becomes obvious in the attached video.

AvWeb has an interview with Kyle Franklin, the pilot, about how he flies that "Ben Wabknoski goes flying" act.

I think I remember them saying that the aircraft is a mostly stock Piper Cub, with an uprated engine, and some metal skid plates duct-taped to the wingtips.
