Airspace changes

Hang on boys and girls. Our old pal Nav Canada is putting the squeeze on our collective proverbial nut-sack.

Check out the link. This is the draft version of the next VTA. Pretty soon you'll need a transponder code and a clearance for a bowel movement.

This sucks.

By the way, some of the proposed changes appear to include mode "C" requirements as low as 1500ft out near Sumas, and possibly the Chilliwack area, as well as mode "C" requirements to cross the pond to the Gulf Idslands down to 1200ft.

This will suck for those in our group who don't have a transponder. Say goodbye to flights to Hastings, or Chilliwack unless you don't mind flying the tree tops or low over the water.

There are still one three week input period apparently. We should have a good look at these changes and voice some opposition when the oportunity arrises. Once these changes are in effect the game is over.

The Valley is one of the only free flight areas around for many unltralight aircraft. We're about to lose it.
