Quilchena fly in

There was a great turnout at Quilchena on Sunday. 12 aircraft including three from the Thompson Valley Flying Club. The weather was spectacular and may be the last really good day for a while. There is snow on the Coquihalla today.

Lunch was good and all birds returned safely. The day was not without incident however, Ronnie Smitt's tailwheel kept jamming causing him to groundloop and bend a little metal. Nothing that can't be fixed. We are all glad that Ron made it home without further incident.

I will post some pictures in a day or two.

Quilchena fly out

Hi there.

Weather permitting, there will be a fly out to the Quilchena strip on Sunday the 27th of September. Freddie will be holding a briefing (which all participants should attend) at 10.00 am on the deck at Airflow. Wheels up shortly after. I hope to see you all there.

Vargas Fly-in

Last weekend's fly -in to Vargas Island organised (loosely) by Freddie was a great success. Turn out was good on a beautiful day and the scenery was spectacular. There were some conventional pilots there too which was good to see.

Fred is encouraged by the turnout and is working on a new trip maybe to Quilchena, Princeton or Merrit. Let's hope the weather holds.

Hastings Fly In

There is a fly and barbeque at Hastings field on Saturday Aug 29th. If you are attending and would like more than a hot dog, bring whatever you would like to cook.
We are hoping for a good turnout for this event. The people at Hastings field have provided a great service to our Ultralight community. Hope to see you all there.

Where are you fearless flyers hanging out these days?

It's been quiet at DairyAir. A few pilots have threatened to fly in.
Although so far, I've been the only one committing aviation here.;)
Finally got around to installing an electric starter on my Bushmaster. Where will it end!

The runways are freshly cut, and I'll make fresh corn-on-the-cob and coffee, for visiting pilots who give me a little advance notice.

Any interest in organizing a fly-in corn-feed?

Lots of room for overnighters.
Camp under the wing, or have the road crew bring in the motorhome.

King George Up-Date

For those of you who did not attend the "Fly and Ride" last Sunday at the strip, I for one thought it a great success. There were a couple of hundred motorcyclists exhibiting in the "show and shine" or just dropping by. Not a big deal for those who do not care for motorcycles but lots of much needed exposure to our airstrip and the associated flying school.

There was a live band, lots of food and several draws, all of the proceeds going to AIM, the Association for injured motorcyclists. A very worthy cause with the weather helping out and providing a warm sunny day.

There are some additions to our fleet too. Darrel and Sharron are flying their new Eurofox which looks great. Jerome is finishing a new Savanna, Greg Stump has finished re-propping his Tecnam with a three blade in flight adjustable, Ron Smit has his Zenair back home from Alberta,
Freddie has a new motor and passenger carrying, King George Aviation has a couple of new airplanes coming to join the school fleet.
