Electrical problem

I have a small problem with the voltage regulator on my Rotax 503 I messure 15.5 volts with the engine running is this to high ,come out if You know ifn this is right or to high because I blew out the power supply to my strobes. Thanks already Al.

  1. Hi Al: I think on most 12 volt systems 14 volts is the max voltage you want from the charging system, I dont know for sure the correct voltage for the Rotax, but I would guess this is too high.

  2. I'm with Bob. 13.5 to 14.6 volts max. Above that can (will) boil dout your battery.

  3. I work with similiar regulators on cars I restore and I have a guy who may be able to repair them and at the same time make them adjustable. If you would let me have a blown/overvoltage one I will let him have it to investigate.

    I am installing a wind driven generator on my Pixie and need a voltage regulator, adjustable would be great. Do you think your guy would be able to supply me with one?
