Electrical problem
I have a small problem with the voltage regulator on my Rotax 503 I messure 15.5 volts with the engine running is this to high ,come out if You know ifn this is right or to high because I blew out the power supply to my strobes. Thanks already Al.
Hi Al: I think on most 12 volt systems 14 volts is the max voltage you want from the charging system, I dont know for sure the correct voltage for the Rotax, but I would guess this is too high.
I work with similiar regulators on cars I restore and I have a guy who may be able to repair them and at the same time make them adjustable. If you would let me have a blown/overvoltage one I will let him have it to investigate.
Geoff, I am installing a wind driven generator on my Pixie and need a voltage regulator, adjustable would be great. Do you think your guy would be able to supply me with one?

I'm with Bob. 13.5 to 14.6 volts max. Above that can (will) boil dout your battery.
